Congratulations to St. Philip Alumni who are achieving great things!

Chris Deluzio, a first year law student at Georgetown, won the Sixtieth Annual Robert J. Beaudry Moot Court Competition. A Georgetown Law tradition since 1952, the Beaudry Moot Court Competition rewards first-year students for excellence in brief-writing and oral advocacy. A graduate of the Naval Academy and veteran of 4 years’ active duty service, Chris continues to distinguish himself at Law School. We wish him continued success.

St. Philip alum Zack Daley received the Channel 4 student athlete of the week trophy from WTAE. Zack led the Bishop Canevin Hockey team to a fantastic season and State Championship as the team’s rookie goalie. The Crusaders (16-4) battled their way to a section title, then knocked off three-time defending state champion Greater Latrobe and top-seeded Peters Township to win the PIHL Class AA Penguins cup championship. For an encore, they beat Council Rock South in the state championship game with a 4-1 victory. They did this with a roster made up of mostly underclassmen and starting goaltender Zack Daley, who had been playing the position for roughly 18 months. Good luck to Zack as he begins his college career.
