Financial Aid Opportunities and Deadlines for the 2016-17 School Year
 
There are several financial aid opportunities available to SPS families. See below for details and links to aid applications.
 
CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF PITTSBURGH EDUCATIONAL GRANTS
You may apply for the following grants by completing ONE Private School Aid Service (PSAS) 2016-17 Student Aid Form.  To apply online, click here. For a printable copy of the form, click here.
 
  • PLEASE NOTE: The deadline for submission is March 15, 2016. (The Pre-School application deadline may be extended beyond this date. Please check with the school office for more information.)
 

Bishop's Education Fund (BEF)

  • This grant program is for Catholic students in Grades K-12 attending eligible schools and registered in eligible parishes. 
  • Pastor Signature is Required. We highly advise you to contact your pastor's office ahead of the March 15, 2016 deadline to arrange to obtain his signature.

 

Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program (OSTC)

  • This funding is available to families whose students reside within the attendance boundaries of a low-achieving school as determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and who meet the income qualifying guidelines. OSTC grants are for Grades K-12 only.
  • You must provide a copy of the letter you received from your public school district confirming eligibility. 
 

K-12 Scholastic Opportunity Scholarship Program (SOS)

  • This grant program is for any student in Grades K-12 residing in Pennsylvania and attending any eligible Catholic school in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh (see School Code List in the application). 
  • Proof of Residency Required 
 

Pre-School Scholastic Opportunity Scholarship Program (SOS)

  • This grant program is for any Pre-Kindergarten student residing in Pennsylvania and attending any eligible Catholic school in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh (see School Code List in the application).
  • Proof of Residency and Pre-K Supplemental Application Required (See application.)

POISE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
  • This Scholarship program is designed to help families at various levels through the education process.
  • Recipients of scholarships are only eligible once during a calendar year.

BRIDGE EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
  • Bridge Educational Foundation is an independent non-profit organization that provides scholarship opportunities to Pennsylvania’s low-income families.
