Overview and Instructions

Parent participation at St. Philip School is a valuable resource. It ensures a strong support base and is essential to the success of the PTG and the school. Volunteering is a great way to take an active role in your child’s school experience and communicates the value you place on their education.  As a volunteer, you will gain a firsthand understanding of your child's activities while building positive relationships with teachers, administrators and other parents. Volunteer efforts directly benefit the school by increasing resources, funding, programs and events that continue to make us a success.

Volunteer Requirements:
  • St. Philip School requests that each family volunteer 20 hours of service each year.
  • Families may opt out of this requirement by paying an annual fee of $200. 
  • Families who volunteer, but do not fulfill their 20 hour requirement, will pay a balance of $10 per unserved volunteer hour at the end of the annual cycle.  
  • The volunteer and fundraising cycle runs from March 1st though February of the following year.
 
PTG Volunteer Opportunities:
There are many volunteer opportunities to choose from throughout the year. Most PTG sponsored events and fundraisers provide an opportunity to earn volunteer hours.  To learn more about a PTG event or fundraiser, please refer to the Events and Fundraising pages of the website.  Detailed descriptions, a list of volunteer opportunities, and the current chairperson contact information is provided.  For a comprehensive list of PTG committees and contacts for each committee, please see the PTG Chairperson List..  
 
PTG Board, Chair and Coaching Positions:
Parents who volunteer to hold a PTG Board, PTG Chairperson, SPAA Board or SPAA Coaching position automatically earn 20 hours to fulfill their requirement.  In addition, these individuals will receive a $25 reduction in their annual Fundraising Quota. Volunteers holding these positions will be approved by Sr. Geri and must be up-to-date on their clearances.  
 
Volunteers Clearances:
Volunteers must have required clearances on file in the school office.  Please see the Volunteer Clearances page for instructions.
