The school Library
not only houses our book and reference collections, but it is
also serves as the Distance Learning Center. Enrichment programs
and instructional courses such as the Spanish class from Bishop
Canevin High School for selected 8th graders are delivered via
the large screen display and DSL connection to the Internet.
Special hookups to students in other schools such as Holy Rosary
in Pittsburgh's East End and St. Edward's in Northern Ireland
have allowed third graders to share folk tales.This pilot program
has been made possible thorugh the SUCCESS grant from the Heinz
Foundation and Duquesne University. |
