K1 Plate Skates! 02/22/2012
 
To celebrate Fabulous Friday, K1 had a Plate Skating Party. Their letter for the day was P so what better way to learn it than playing with Paper Plate Skates.

Congratulations to St. Philip 7th graders Hope Grefenstette and Jimmy Hurley who were selected to perform in the Diocesan Honors Band Concert at Seton LaSalle High School. Hope plays the oboe while Jimmy plays the trombone.

 
Happy Birthday Clifford! 02/16/2012
 
First graders celebrated the birthday of one of their favorite characters - Clifford the Big Red Dog. They enjoyed special Clifford treats, a Clifford video, and even palyed games on the clifford Web site in computer clas
 
Which Way is the Wind Blowing? 02/16/2012
 
The 5th grade science classes tried to answer that question as well as how fast it is moving with their homemade anemometers which are weather instruments used to calculate the speed of the wind.
The students made their equipment for paper cups, straws, ta[e and a push pin and then tested them out in the courtyard.
 
And You Thought Spanish Food Meant Tacos and Chili 02/15/2012
 
The 6th grade Spanish students held their first "Food Tasting Fiesta"
on Feb 13th. Authentic Hispanic recipes from various Spanish speaking counties included: San Jacobo (a merienda or snack food), yemas(a very special Christmas desert), enchiladas, tacos, fruit gazpacho, flan, guacamole, salsas, churros, cinnamon chocolate drink, and many other dishes. "Un buen tiempo" was had by all! Ole!
 
Kindergarten and Grade 2B Valentines 02/15/2012
 
Kindergarten had a great time decorating bags, snacking on treats, and exchanging valentines while 2B had a Valentine Box decorating contest. Kylee Nowak won with her robot box and Aaron Dawson took top honors with his alligator box.
 
Heart Warming Project 02/15/2012
 
The 7th and 1st grade Prayer Partners made woven hearts for Valentine Day to show that God's love is woven in our hearts!
 
mAd Men - Part 2 02/14/2012
 
The 7th graders completed its Unit on products and advertising by creating the final "print ads" for their products. See anything interesting that you'd like to buy?
