St. Philip’s soccer teams came out strong in their opening weekend! The two first grade teams each won their games against St. Kilian and St. Bernard, as did the second grade team also against St. Kilian. The third/fourth grade teams split with a tie to Our Lady of Grace and a loss to St. Thomas More.

In awesome back to back victories, JV defeated St. Kilian, winning 2-1, on goals from Colby Lane and Luke Wrabley, with excellent goal-keeping by Cooper Anselm. Varsity followed that up with a another win in the final minutes of the game, beating St. Kilian 2-1, with goals from Natalie Kirsch and Sean Kelsch, and awesome defense by keeper Joey Hurley.

Make sure to come out this weekend to see all the teams play at St. Paul’s Seminary to watch the developmental teams take on St. Bede, and JV and Varsity face off against Archangel Gabriel.
